A Faultless Combination of Form and Function!
I saw this take note of in a display case at an authorized dealer for first time earlier this year and was drawn to it instantly! I've always been fatigued to diving watches and chronographs. As such, I own a Rolex Submariner and an Omega Speedmaster Professional--both classic watches. The Submariner has an imposing depth rating (300 meters) and the famous "cyclops" date display. The Speedmaster has the chronograph role but no date and needs to be manually wound. It is rated to 100 meters. I've always wanted to come by a watch that combined them both. The older Seamaster Professional Chronograph, with its 300 meter rating, came mean, but I've never took to the styling of the watch nor the bracelet on it. I like the styling of the Rolex Daytona, but it does not have the adequate depth rating for my liking (only 100m), and the chronograph pushers have to be screwed down for underwater activities. Furthermore, it has no swain display. Then came this new Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph...
Sad
It's extraordinarily sad. I love Omega so much but this watch was an utter disappointment. The movement, the Omega 3313, has been hotly debated, but the virus had pronto hit mine. The chronograph, after almost completing a revolution, would stop at 11:59 and halt the whole watch. I could never get it going again. Omega should fix this contemptible movement.
Not what I expected
I saw this tend in a national chain on sale, but we saved $1,100 by buying on Amazon - 1) bigger dismiss 2) no sales tax. First of all a warning about buying from Amazon. If you buy this watch at and Authorized Dealer, the co-axial escapment watches have a 3 year bond. All other Omegas have a 2 year warranty. Since Amazon is not an authorized dealer, they replace the Omega warranty with their own pledge. However, they only provided a 2 year warranty. So I guess I lost a year of warranty for the $1,100 of savings. Asset - I had to take the watch to shop to have it fitted properly.On a full wind, it usually stops keeping continuously after 30 or so hours. (closer to 30) That is pretty dissappointing. Because it is so big, you can't wear it all the time. I have had the alert for for a month, and I have had to readjust the time about 10 times.Also, when I do manage to wind it, it still loses about 4-5 seconds a day. That is over 30 seconds a week, that is 2...

i bought this vigilant about one month ago, and i look at it every day and still love it!! the sapphire crystal is beautiful and the way the watch feels on my arm is fitting great!!!originally, i had a rolex submariner date, but like this watch much more and have now sold my rolex. i have big wrists, so the 45mm watchman on the alert for face looks better than a 39mm rolex submariner. in addition, since the submariner is "too popular", this planet deep blue sea stands out of the crowd---especially because of the red numbers. furthermore, it is now the official james bond take care of ;)one catch is that the watch is very heavy, about 1/2 lbs, but that isn't an issue for me. hope you enjoy the watch as much as i do!
Functioning & rugged indulgence
I in fine pulled the trigger on this luxury sport watch as my first Omega. I have to say it compares favorably with my Rolex Datejust and GMT-Know inside out II. The clasp is definitely better.So far, the watch is 2.5 seconds fast over the course of 7 era. My Rolexes have never been as accurate -- this is surprising accuracy for any automatic.

Wearable Every Day
I disposition this watch. I've worn it every day for around 2 years now. It took a little while to get used to the size, but I can't wear smaller watches now. At first you'll heed its weight, but after a few days you'll feel naked without it. The wristband is a little bit more rigid than my Rolex Datejust, and the only problem to it is that the clasp will sometimes open depending on your wrist position. Another very small quibble that I have is that the face smudges extremely easily. As with every automatic watch, the time needs to be adjusted every once in a while. It seems that it's around 2-3 minutes dead-and-alive every month. This is actually much, much better than the 5-6 minutes that my Rolex was fast every month. Greatest thing is that this watch looks as casual as you would want it to be wearing t-shirts and flip flops, and also frenzy right in when you're wearing a tux. Lots of compliments from everyone who knows their watches too.

This is my fourth Swiss timepiece and it has to be said, my preferred. I have also owned an Ikepod, Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow and a Tag F1, the latter of which I still own as it is just such a fun watch.I basically swapped my Number Arrow (BA) for the Planet Ocean XL (PO XL) and I'm glad I did (the XL is the one to go for not the baby brother version). The BA is a fantastic watch but I started to find it principled a little too dressy for my taste. The PO XL on the other hand is a fantastic, great looking, chunky sports anticipate which grabs peoples attention without being too flash. It can be worn as an everyday watch but it still has the class and will look giant on that special occasion. The PO is beautifully made and a pleasure to wear. I looked at the Tags (Aquaracer and Join) Breitling (colt) and some others in the price range and they just didn't come close to this one in my conviction. I am rather single-minded when it comes to luxury watches. This comes from spending 2 years in watchmaking school, studying undeviatingly under the guidance of a certified master swiss watchmaker who came here from Europe. Watches, firstly mid to high grade swiss watches, are a passion of mine. I am not loyal to a brand or a style or anything else. I have precisely purchased this Omega watch and I am completely satisfied. This watch has everything that I was looking for, quality, workmanship, chic at an exceptional price for the value. I had an extensive watch collection and had my home robbed, and they took everything I had. No Grandeur Control
I a moment ago received my first Omega watch and it was beautiful. But after 10 days it fogged up on the inside of the crystal. How can they tell on a brand new dive watch that is supposedly water proof to 600M that gets moisture inside of? Isn't that the first QC check you perform? I contacted the dealer and told them I wanted a new watch that had been QC'ed. They supposedly contacted Omega who said unyielding - send it in at my expense for a 6-8 week warranty repair. I'll get rid of it as soon as it's back from Omega and buy a brand I can trusteeship. What a disappointment. 1. First of all, buy from an Authorized Relations. I don't think Amazon is an AD and therefore you may not get the warranty from Omega.2. There has been a price increase this year. This watch is pushing $4000 retail now.3. There is 1 AD i conscious of that will sell for this price that Amazon has. Go to your local AD, show them you are serious, and ask for a discount.Having said that, the watch itself is effulgent. Looks terrific on my hand, works well with formal clothing or with business casual. Keeps precise time well and just feels and looks like quality. Looks more modern than anything Rolex has to extend and is certainly on par with Rolex on build quality.Definitely worth the buy in my opinion.
