A charming looking yet rugged watch.

Firm for the price
I needed a gold bars colored dress watch to go with some jewelery I had. I collect watches and have a number of them now. I saw this watch and did not know much about August Steiner. I did some experimentation on the web and could not find much feedback. I figured at 73 dollars I would take a chance. It arrived in 2 days and seems solid. Its a hardly any light compared to my 500-1000 dollar stainless dive watches but for a dress watch it will be available for its purpose. The band seems a little flimsy and light that is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. As elongated as I am dressed up wearing it out to dinner or to the casinos I think it will be fine. I can always upgrade the band if the go red comes off or it breaks. The mother of pearl looks good and it came in a really acute watch box (for a cheaper watch) so it probably would be a impressive gift. I do not think it would last a week doing any fixation heavy that might beat it up. I would not buy this as an everyday wearer watch. It had a 365 dollar...

Inconceivable Value!
I own a Rolex - tried to buy my little woman a Rolex . . . not interested. She'd rather have a variety of watches and wears them more as cosmetic jewelry than a treasured timepiece. Having said this, I've bought her several good-sized watches in the $100-300 range. Happened to see this available as a daily deal and decided to just pick it up for her. The see was nicely packaged and shipped - the pictures online provide a pretty good dream of how attractive it is but only upon opening up the box and seeing in person will one fully appreciate just how beautiful this care for is! I'm not sure what the average selling price is but for $49, it was a steal. The watch easily looks qualified of a $150-300 price tag. Good luck - hope the review helps your shopping acquaintance.

The Buffalo nickel took the Common States from pre-World War I, through the Great Depression and to the beginning of World War II. Before the Buffalo nickel there was Charles Barber's Presumption Head nickel, which had been in production since 1883. This coin had not been well received, but under the Coinage Act of 1890, a coin's shape could not be changed until after it had been in circulation for at least 25 years, meaning the lackluster Liberty Head had to be second-hand until 1909. In a May 1911 letter from his son to then Secretary of the Treasury, Franklin MacVeagh, it was advised that a new nickel could become "a invariable souvenir of the most attractive sort." MacVeagh didn't want to pass up the chance to replacement the coin. However, MacVeagh completely bypassed Barber, and started looking for a new design and schemer. James Earle Fraser was chosen and work began. On March 4, 1913, currency from the first bag to be released into circulation were given to President William Howard Taft and a group of 33 Indian chiefs during the groundbreaking for the Civil Memorial to the North American Indian located in Fort Wadsworth, New York. Expected by artist James Earle Fraser, the Buffalo nickel features an Indian front profile on the obverse, or front, and the image of a buffalo on the reverse, or back of the coin. Instead of drawing from recollection, Fraser used an assemblage of three chiefs, Iron Tail, Two Moons and Chief John Big Tree, who had once posed for him. Similarly, the bison, Black Diamond, from Central Park Zoo was the model for the vacate. At the time, the words "In God We Trust" were not a requirement of nickels or pennies, and therefore are not seen on the buffalo nickel.

Consumer BEWARE - Terrible Quality
Bought this for my son for Christmas as he needed a safeguard and has a keen interest in coins. Within a week, we were unable to set the watch as somehow the minute and hour hands became unconfined. Disappointed, we put it aside to deal with later and my son started using another watch he received as a backsheesh. Just went onto Amazon's return page and found out that the window for return closed 1/31/12, so now we are stuck tiring to get this inferior product repaired at our own cost, or can mail it back to Amazon, again at our cost, and receive a fond of credit. Poorly done, Amazon. I do a LOT of shopping through you and this is the first time I have been throughly disappointed in the quality of the article as well as the customer support. NOT what I have come to expect in the many years I have been shopping, almost exclusively, through you. I only gave it one eminent as I was unable to submit the review with a rating of zero stars.

Second-rate Quality Nice Looking Watch
I ordered this on one's guard for because of it's unique design. It arrived and felt sturdy and looked great. I started it up and the jiffy hand would only go to the 50 second mark and then stop. If I pulled out the pin and pushed it in again it would start and go for a duplicate or two and then stop. Repeated the process and it would go around and then stop again at the 50 second mark. Had the watch returned and a new one at home, but it's second hand had completely fallen off of the watch and was lying loose inside the mug! If you want a cool charm bracelet with a buffalo nickel inside this is for you. Otherwise stay in a different place from this watch! Even at a good price if it doesn't work what's the point?

Looks outgoing.
Looks rigorous to what I expected. It's a bit tinier, but definitely not to the point where it's embarrassing for a man to wear it. My only complaint is the tin it comes in. The hour says "COIN WATCH" on the outside (with some other mumbo jumbo), which gives it a youthful, kiddy, tight-fisted feel. Besides for those unnecessary words, I am pleased with this purchase.
