Description

Exquisitely presumptuous, this Arena Sport chronograph from Gérald Genta shines in high performance stainless bear up. The extra large steel case highlights a black dial with luminous hands and Arabic numerals, a big boy calendar, and carbon fiber pattern subdials displaying small seconds as well as chronograph minutes and hours. A tachymeter ascend is featured along the dial's perimeter. The dial is capped with a scratch-resistant sapphire gemstone and framed by a round bezel in steel and black rubber. A rounded link knife bracelet completes the rugged look. This Gérald Genta watch features self-winding mechanical movement and is rated water resistant to 30 meters.

More Than Not bad
Ah, yes, the Genta Tourbillon. I withdrawal this watch fondly, as I owned one for quite some time. I must say it was a fine "beater" watch.I typically wore this more-than-passable timepiece on occasions unsuitable for my multi-million-dollar Patek Philippe Sky-Moon Tourbillon. You be versed how we boys like get in trouble. I took my Genta ostrich racing on the Serengeti, drifting the Bugatti around the Nurburgring, overshadow bowling in Monaco, and other adrenaline-rich adventures that might damage a timepiece of *true* value.The Genta in effect impressed me in its ability to take a beating and yet maintain accurate time under extreme duress. There's the span I sucker-punched Mr. T in Vegas. I broke my hand in two places, but the Genta didn't miss a tick! And that patch I was picking up the Gallardo at the valet in South Beach, and some idiot sideswiped me in a Range Tramp and took the door off my car. NOT BAD FOR AS Covet AS IT LASTED.
THE Complete;I won one of these as a door prize at a GSA retreat in Las Vegas recently and must say I was pleased to show it off to all my coworkers and politicians when I got back to D.C.THE BAD;Well, I got back to Washington and definitely showed my stuff at the Kenyan/Nigerian State Dinner (I thought it was a STEAK feast) and all the diplomats and socialites were impressed including Hillary, Eric, Timothy, Kathy and the overwhelm. During the after dinner reception, I accidently dunked it in the punch bowl and it quit working instantly. Boy was I obummed out.THE UGLY;I complained to my Aunt Martha Johnson (head of GSA) about my misfortune and she told me she would succeed it in next years retreat budget. OK for the appraisal
This is the be watchful for that I wear when I don't want anything to happen to one of my good watches. I'll also wear it if I'm feeling a little less uncontained than usual. It's a nice piece. Simple, easy to read, not too flashy. I'm a little sceptical of the 100 meter water resist, though, so I keep an extra one aboard my yacht just in container one of my weekly dive trips gets to be a bit too much for it.Pros:- Simple, easy to read- Leather confederate made from real alligator- Comes in a nice boxCons:- Water resist is only to 100 meters- No daunt- No illuminated display
